ACADEMIC EXPLOITS

Becoming your best in God and for God

3John 1:12; Deuteronomy 28:13

Written by Matthew Ogunniran and Emmanuel Elikplim

INTRODUCTION

It is the desire of God that His children excel in whatever their hands find to do. His will for us is to be the head and not the tail. Mediocrity is not in God’s agenda for us. Many Christian’s students in our time have misjudged being simple and contented as being mediocre. Our small mind wants to remain below or at most, on the average.

Contrary to this, examples abound in the scriptures and in our contemporary world, of youths who recorded outstanding performances in their days. Young men and women like Daniel, Mesach, Shadrach, Abednego, Lydia, Ruth, Joseph, Mary, Paul and Luke were notable for exploits in their days.

Our warfare 1

2Co 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds,

Every person is engaged in warfare of one kind or the other and also at different levels. The devil is our arch enemy. He brings every battle to our door steps. When a man becomes a child of God the battle becomes more critical. His life has become a serious battle field. When our Lord Jesus was to start His ministry having fasted for forty days and nights the devil came tempting Him on all grounds of temptation. In the same way the devil always come to us subtly with the aim of winning us over back to his side. This article will be focusing on the weapons we use for fighting. The weapons we use to fight determine greatly how the battle will be fought and won. If we must win our daily battles against the world, sin and the devil there is a weapon we must put on in other to fight a good fight.

A picture of the cross

It’s a picture of violence

Yet the key to healing

A picture of death

Yet the key to life

A picture of utter weakness

Yet the key to power

A picture of capital punishment

Yet the key to mercy and forgiveness

A picture of vicious hatred

Yet the key to love

A picture of supreme shame

Yet the Christians supreme boast

There is an ongoing battle

Battle to mar the destiny of the children

Battle to make them irrelevant

 In the economy of God

For divine use

Battle to waste their lives

The enemy is out to steal, kill and destroy

Your prayers we covet, daddy, Mummy

That victim we do not become

But sharp arrows in the

Quiver of the master

And we will not slip form the high way

Mummy we need your warn embrace

And the world we will not embrace

Teach us the right path to follow

From it we will no part when we grow

By the ark like little Samuel

We want to lie

Sons of Belial we don’t want to be

Spare not the rod lest we spoil and stink

Our generation we don’t want to fail

Daddy, Mummy please help us

Jacob Y. Tsado.
