1 - How can I be a better person?

The only way to truly be a better person is to give our heart to God.  An unconverted man may try to do better, but he is ultimately doomed to failure for no one can become worthy of God’s blessing through trying to be better.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourself, it is the gift of God, no of works, lest anyone should boast – Eph 2:8-9.

When you turn your life over to Jesus, you are no just a better person, but you are identified with a perfect person-one who never sinned.  Resolved to do things this way from now on and turn away from sin with his help. Commit yourself to following Him wherever He may lead you.  You will know the reality of His love and will understand that you have truly become a better person.

Beyond you will know that al your questions truly have only one answer.  That is the person – Jesus Christ

2 - It is really true that there life after death?

Yes! There is life after death for all  people .  How you will spend your life after death depends upon your relationship with God.

Jesus said “I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live.  And whoever lives and believes in me shall never die” (John 11: 25 – 26)

Not only is there life after death but God is going to give us new bodes.  Those who believe in Jesus and have lived for God are going to have a new bodies just like the resurrected body of Jesus and the will be together with him in glory. Those who do not lived for Him will be in a place of torment and punishment (Daniel 12:23, Mathew 25:46, Rev. 20: 11 – 15). There is life after death, but the quality of that life depends upon how we spend our days in  this life.

3 - I am often afraid of what the future will be for me and my family what can I do?

Your future depends on where you stand in relationship to God.  If you know Jesus as Lord and Saviour and follow His principles, the future is very, very positive.  If you do not know the Lord, the future looks very dangerous.

Your listening and obedience to God make you to prosper in all that you do , but if you fail to listen to God and go on your own stubborn way, then you are going to run into insurmountable problems.

                        Malachi 4 : 2 – 3

“To you who fear my name the sun of righteousness shall arise with healing in His wrong and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.  You shall trample the wicked for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet.”

The best things you can do, to prepare for the future, is to be sure you are in proper relationship with God.

4 - Do I have to be born again in order to be a Christian?

Yes! You must be born again in order to be saved.  Unless you are saved, you are not a Christian, regardless of which denomination you belong to or whatever name you are call.

There is a transformation by the spirit of God of our lives as we open up our heart to God which is tantamount to a second birth – (John 3: 3- 6, Eph. 5:26)

Gods law is no longer something on tablets of stone, but is something written upon our heart. You are made righteous by faith, then you live righteousness by the leading of the Holy Spirit.  This is a process of regeneration that turn a sinner into a Saint, fit for Gods Kingdom.

5 - Why are the wicked not punished for what they do?

David said in Psalm 73: 3-5, 16 – 18

“For I was envious of the boastful when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.  For there are no pangs in their death but their strength is firm. T hey are not in trouble as other men nor are they plagued like other men…. When I thought how to understand this, it was too painful for me – until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I understood their end.  Surely you set them in slippery places; you cast them down to destruction.

God patience is meant to lead the wicked into repentance (Rm. 2: 5-7) but instead, they often presume on God saying “He does not know what we are doing, we are getting away with it.  But eternity is not so long, and life is so short.  Their own evil catches up with them.  Be rest assured, no one gets away with evil.  Judgment always comes.  Only the timing is uncertain.

6 - How can I know the will of God?

Virtually everything you need to know concerning the will of God is in the Bible.  If you are, totally, familiar with the Bible.  You can know the will of God.

Also when you commune with God in prayers and learn what pleases Him.  The peace of God serves as a regulator, so that when you violet the will of God, His peace leaves you and you have inner turmoil.  You know you are going against the will of God  ( Cor. 3:15, James 3:17)

God also speak through godly counsels, through circumstances, inner voice of the spirit, visions , Dreams and other means.

If we purpose to do His will we will know His leading (John 7:17) However” Trust in the with all your heart, and learn not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths (Proverb 3: 5-6).

7 - How do I pray for a Miracle?

When we are faced with a great need, we should begin by humbly seeking to know what Gods will is in the matter.

Seek to know what is God’s will in the situation and then base your prayer upon it.  God has given us authority over disease, demons, sickness, storms and finance.  As we daily work in accordance to His will, we are to command the storm to be still.

“Whoever says to this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, he will have whatever he says “ Mark 11v33.

8 - How can I cast out a demon?

To cast out a demon is to command the devil in the name of Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit to come out of an individual, a house, or wherever the demon happens to be.  And it is done simply and quickly (Act 16: 16-18)

The person doing that should be filled with Gods sprit; He should not have any unsurrendered sin in his life,  pace of ulterior moves, sexual impurities, greed and any other thing that might lay him open to some change by the devil the accuser of the brethren (Act 19:13)

Also, people should not go out looking for demons or make up demons where they do not exist.  A believer should be prepared to confront demons when the need arises, but he should no go out looking for this kind of encounter.

9 - Do I have to go to church to be saved?

No! you do not have to be in the church to be saved, but to continue effectively in the things of God, you must be in some type of fellowship with other Christian, and Churches meet that need. (Heb. 10:28, Mt. 18:20).

10 - Does God have a perfect mate for everyone?

God will lead you to the person best suited to you, although possible not a “perfect” mate.  But the person who best complements your personality, background, desires, genetic make up when joined to yours produce offspring pleasing to God, to you, your spouse and fellowman.

We need therefore to seek God’s infinite wisdom in the choice of our mates.  God will bring us the right person if we will let Him (Proverb 3:4-5)

Remember only a mate who has Jesus Living within can ever be considered “perfect” or suitable for you.

11 - When is Jesus Christ coming again?

Nobody can say with any degree of certainty when Jesus is coming again.  Himself said no man knows that day except the father (Mark 13:32).

However there are certain signs or clues that His coming is approaching

·        There would be wars and rumours of wars etc which are happening with increasing frequency (Mathew 24:3, Luke 21:7, Mt 24:6-7, 12, Luke 21:10 – 11,  2Thessanllonians 2:3-4)

·        Establishment of the state of Israel Luke 21: 24

·        This gospel of the Kingdom will be preached – Mt. 24:14

These are signs of the time; we are to hold ourselves always ready for our Lord return. But nobody knows the day and hour when that will be.

12 - Should a Christian marry an Unbeliever?

Absolutely not. “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers… what accord has Christ with Belial”? (2 Cor. 6:14 – 15)

Some Christians go ahead and marry unbelievers, thinking that they can convert them after marriage.  But if God has really chosen that man or woman for you.  He is perfectly capable of bringing that person to Himself before the marriage.  If He does not do it.  It is a God enough sign that this marriage is not what He wants for your.  Christians need to  learn to wait on the Lord, to wait for what is right. Anything short of that can prove to be a dreadful mistake.

13 - Should grown children continue to honour their parents according to the biblical commandment?

Since the relationship of parent to Child endures until death, so does the honour due parents from children (Exodus 20:12).

14 - Do people have to be poor in order to be holy?

Paul said

“I know how to be abased and I know how to abound” The he added” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Phil. 4:12-13).

You can be just as holy when you are financially comfortable as you can be when you are poor, perhaps it is easier to cry out to God for help when you are in need.  But if Christians sanctify God in their hearts ahead of materials concern, they should be able to live above their circumstances whether that includes prosperity or poverty.

Simply being poor is not a sign of holiness, neither is being wealthy.  Godly people are those who are content wherever God has place them and are serving Him to the best of their abilities; irrespective of material circumstances.

15 - How do I receive Gods guidance?

Gods primary means for giving us guidance is the Bible.  The Bible is our rule book of faith and practices.  He never guides His people contrary to the clear principles of His written word.

Guidance also comes from acknowledgement of God Himself.  You need to know what please Him and what displeases Him.  No substitute for walking with God.  You need to keep sharing with Him and talking to Him daily to experience His direction and correction, Spiritual maturity forms a basis of guidance. Proverb 3v4-5 give us another key

“Trust in the land with all your heart….. He will direct your path .

Finally be filled with the Holy Spirit as many who are lead by the Holy Spirit  they are called the Sons of God .  He guide by giving specific scripture or bring people providentially to give you advice or counsel.  If you your heart and life is centred on God, His word and His Holy Spirit, you can rest assured that He will direct your path.

16 - How do I know I am hearing a word from God?

There is no way for certain that someone is hearing form God, unless that person has been listening to God over time and testing what he has heard. Such become accustomed to discerning Gods voice (John10:27).  There are others who think they are hearing from God when  they are not, they think that their every thought is a revelation from God.  God does not customarily speak that way.  You can tell if someone is a prophet by seeing  what he said comes to pass.

There is no short cut to spiritual understanding, you have to learn to walk with God and know His voice otherwise you will mistake your own voice, the voice of satan or the clamouring voice of the world for His.  God speak in a still, small , quite voice. It takes time, prayer and waiting on God to hear His voice.

The ultimate should not merely be to get direction from God but to know Him.

17 - What is the secret of Happiness ?

Happiness is not a warm puppy or a fire on a cold night.  It is not the beach at dawn or the other things that people say make them happy.

The deep, deep happiness that transcends all else comes form knowing God and in turn, from being known by Him.  Happiness is communion with Him, hearing His voice and knowing that you accomplishment in life is in fulfillment of His desire for you.  This is perfect happiness (Isaiah 26-3-4, Phil 4:7, Proverb 28:14, John 13:17).

18 - What makes people happy?

There are many degree of happiness, but the greatest happiness comes from serving God, knowing Him, and knowing for certain that your life is contributing, in a positive fashion, to His ultimate purposes.  I think that is the greatest happiness a person can have. People who do not know God will never find lasting happiness. They may achieve a transitory type of happiness but will shattered whenever unpleasant event come.  A man may say “ I am very happy, because I have a lonely wife, healthy children, a nice home, a good job. But what happen if he loses his job, his house, wife or children becomes sick?

If you are in fellowship with God and serving Him peace and happiness will be there despite the circumstances.  You can be happy in the midst of problems.

19 - I find it difficult to quit drinking or depending on drugs How will I do?

You have to make up your mind to quit, make a total break and get rid of anything that may tempt you.

But first you must open your heart to Jesus, Confess what you are doing is wrong, seek His forgiveness and deliverance and renounce your habit and cast the spirit of alcohol, Marijuana, narcotic, nicotine from your body.  Do not consort those who get you into trouble but find Christian who have given up such habits.

It takes about thirty days to establish a habit.  It will take such length of time for your body to clean out the poisons and chemical depends.  After such period of time, the craving should be over.  You may discover that the smell of such will actually become repugnant to you, make up your mind to quit and to follow God.  He will help you (see our Article under resource column on this for further reading).

20 - How do I get free from fear?

1 John 4:18

“Perfect love cast out fear, for fear has torment.

There are many kind of fear but note that knowledge and experience can help us overcome fear, we fear the unknown and are comfortable with the familiar.  The Psalmist say “The Lord is my shepherd … will fear no evil…” we should remind ourselves over and over that God is all-powerful and that His protection is sufficient for any need.

Some fear is healthy, we should fear or respect fire, electricity, lighting, bullets, and God Himself.  But we  should know that some extremes of fear are totally false and may be induced by demons which should be addressed to depart in the name of Jesus.

Praising the Lord is an excellent antidote to fear.   Rebuke the spirit of fear and Satan who bring it.  And also brings the Christian into the direct presence of God (Psalm 22:3).

21 - What sin an particularly block the flow of miracle power?

Every sin before God is sin and can deprive man from Gods blessing.  However, I like to address the sin of forgiveness as a blockage to the flow of miraculous power.

The first person to forgive is yourself

“If our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God”

The second person to forgive if we have bitterness is God Himself, Ask yourself, Am I blaming God for my situation?

The third person you may have to forgive is a member of your family, you have to get rid of resentment.

Forgive anybody who has ever done anything against you.  It may be that your resentment is justified. Forgiveness is key, lack of forgiveness most often comes between people and God.  Also free your heart from any other sin which your heart condemns you.
